Today, we're reaching out to you with heavy hearts as we navigate through the ongoing challenges posed by the relentless flooding in Kenya. This natural disaster has brought devastation to many in Kenya. We ask you to pray with us for those lost in the flooding, and to bring comfort and support to survivors who lost so much.
The hardest hit areas are Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, and Samburu land, where we recently held our latest Children’s Rally. Watch the video to the right to glimpse a fraction of the impact in the region. Sent by our Reverend Nelly, the video shows high flood waters engulfing a local school.
We are thankful to report that our WADADA students and staff remain safe. However, all schools are closed until further notice. All of our students have returned home to the WADADA Children’s House.
While we are beyond grateful for the safety of our students, this unexpected circumstance has strained our resources beyond their limits. Our budget, meticulously planned to sustain our operations under normal circumstances, simply wasn't designed to accommodate feeding more than 60 children during the school year.
We need your support now more than ever to weather this storm and continue providing our students with the care and support they deserve. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will help us to ensure these children not only survive this crisis, but continue to thrive.
If you’re able to support us during this critical time, please consider making a donation. And please continue to pray for all of those in Kenya facing these unprecedented times.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Hope for the Hopeless
