That’s a lot of rice! Watch William stir the large pot of rice used to feed the more than 700 children attending the current Children’s Rally in Torosei in Kenya. It takes a lot of work to prepare enough food for so many children, including bringing fire wood to prepare meals of this size and scale. We can’t be more proud of our Wadada Students for stepping up to the challenge!
For many of the children in this region, food is scarce and they often do not get enough to eat. Thanks to remarkable donors, we are blessed to be able to provide two meals a day at our Children’s Rallies.
While rice is the main staple for the children to eat, additional foods can include cabbage, potatoes and occasionally meat. Unfortunately wheat porridge is in still in short supply due to the war between Russian and Ukraine.
The Children’s Rallies are a great way for our Wadada Students to utilize their leadership skills and help make the Rally a wonderful event for so many. Check back soon for more updates from the Rally!
